Ouch!... Pass it Along

In 2006 Senator Colin Kenny spent one week in a Dubai hotel for one meeting and the possibility of traveling to Afghanistan.  The cost to taxpayers was $30,000......Ouch!

In 2007 the city of Edmonton spent $30,000 to hire 30 actors from Washington, D.C. to hand out Yo-Yo’s in the U.S. capital on Canada Day...Ouch!

Public employee, Tom Parkinson was making a cool $1.5 million a year as CEO of Hydro One when it was discovered he billed $45,000 in personal expenses to his secretary’s corporate credit card and used Hydro One’s helicopter to visit his private cottage.  Parkinson then voluntarily resigned and received a 3 million dollar severance package...Ouch!

These are just a few examples of the way our governments continually waste our hard earned tax dollars.  And each day we will be posting a new Ouch here.

We think enough is enough.  It is time for Canadians from coast to coast to contact their elected officials at all levels of government and tell them to stop wasting our money!

But we can’t do this without your help.  We want this message to reach all Canadians, so we are planning to create newspaper ads, radio spots and online videos to share these messages.

Government waste affects each and every one of us.  Together we can make our politicians take notice, and put an end to government waste.
