The media has uncovered some new details that are embarassing Ontario's Liberals today. Former OLG head Kelly MacDougald has just won a $747,000 settlement from the government for wrongful dismissal. It would have been cheaper to pay her a severance, like former eHealth CEO Sarah Kramer who received a $315,000 severance. Escaping a scandal by creating a new scandal - ouch!

Canada's space agency and Agriculture Canada spent more than $400,000.00 since 2006 developing "space food." Only two items were successfully produced - jerky, and oatmeal cookies. Neither of these products required any adjustments for space consumption.  Furthermore, neither of these products ever went into space. Ouch!

Canadians will be confronted by the real costs of the G20 as they are released piece by piece. Get ready for the $1-billion price tag to rise even higher. This just in: the $5-million security fence was ACTUALLY $9.4-million. Ouch!

Ontarians are waking up to a new tax.... other than the HST. On the same day, Dalton McGuinty secretly introduced new 'eco-taxes' on hundred of new items. Furthermore, the McGuinty government has now launched a multi-million dollar ad campaign to promote the new tax. Tradtionally, consultation must take place BEFORE legislation comes into effect. OUCH!!!!!!!!!

The annual cost of maintaining the Governor General's accomodations is approx. $9,000,000.00 per year. In relative terms, Canadians pay more to suppport the governor general than the British pay to support the Royal Family. Ouch!

Canadian taxpayers have always been on the hook for the Queen's Canadian travel costs. These Canadian tours can cost upwards of a milliong dollars when security costs are included. When Nova Scotia taxpayers asked about these costs last week they were told this figure is 'a royal secret.' Ouch!
