The Toronto Star reported on Monday, October 20, 2008 that the Toronto Transit Commission is switching back to diesel powered buses from the diesel-electric buses due to the buses requiring more maintenance and being less reliable. This is after Ottawa gave the TTC $305.5 million to buy the newer, more environmentally friendly buses...Ouch!
