Canada is set to introduce new polymer-based banknotes to replace our $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100 bills by 2013. The cost of adopting the new bills and integrating our equipment? $100-million. There are over 500,000 machines across Canada that must be upgraded to handled the lighter, thinner bills. Ouch!
In bringing back this campaign, the NCC will be posting a new Ouch on this web page each day.
But we cannot do it without your help:
- E-mail us your examples of government waste at ncc@nationalcitizens.ca;
- Pass this on to your friends and colleagues; and
- Generously contribute to this campaign by clicking here, so we can continue to expose this wasteful use of your hard earned tax dollars.
